
As a qualified Level 3 Matwork instructor, Felicity can provide Pilates Matwork sessions on both a 1:1 and group basis.
Felicity has a strong understanding of biomechanics and movement aided by her experience in dance which allows her to work with clients from a variety of different backgrounds. Felicity believes Pilates can benefit everybody both physically and mentally to encourage mind and body well-being.
Felicity’s understanding of dance optimisation and injury risk means that she has a particular interest in providing Pilates sessions to dancers in training, creating movement-based Pilates classes to enhance dance performance and reduce the risk of injury to supplement training, whether that is preparing for a performance season or examination.
Pilates can assist with health-related issues and rehabilitation such as hyper-mobility, hip/knee replacements and back pain, during her classes. Felicity provides alternatives and modifications for exercises to ensure safe practice and to allow clients to work at their current skill level.
Should I attend a group class or book a private 1:1?
This depends on a number of things: whether you have a preference for working out as an individual or as part of a group, whether or not you have specific goals and would like a programme designed for you and how you feel most comfortable when exercising. Online Pilates Classes
All the joy of a Pilates class but from the comfort of your own home! Classes are held via Zoom and are live so you can still gain feedback and ask questions throughout the class. Classes are suitable for all levels.
Face to Face Group Pilates Classes
Group Pilates classes typically hold 12 clients. You may have previously attended a larger session in a gym, or similar environment, and felt you weren’t getting the attention you needed during the class, this is why the classes are only ever formed of a small number, to ensure everyone is looked after and supported to achieve their goals. The classes are all matwork based and small equipment such as resistance bands and small Pilates balls are often used. The aim of the classes is to learn the Pilates technique and to focus on understanding the body through movement. The classes are suitable for all levels from beginner to advanced as exercises can be adapted to suit your current skill level.
